Week 10 of the West Somerset Bowls League delivered a full spectrum of chaos for Wellington’s three teams, ranging from heroic victory to total obliteration. If you support Wellington, this was the kind of week that has you cheering one moment and hiding behind the clubhouse the next.
đź’Ą WELLINGTON A – THE PRIDE OF THE TOWN!
At last, some sunshine in the storm.
Wellington A produced a brilliant, battling win over Taunton C, triumphing 48–40 and bagging a crucial 8 points to 4. It wasn’t just a win – it was a statement.
They fought for every shot, held their nerve, and finally turned pressure into points. After weeks of frustration, Wellington A gave their supporters something to smile about, dragging themselves away from the danger zone with grit and determination.
A rare bright spark in a turbulent week.
🔥 WELLINGTON B – UNBEATEN RUN BROKEN, BUT STILL KINGS OF DIVISION TWO
The shock of the round came when the previously untouchable Wellington B finally stumbled, losing away to second‑placed Burnham-on-Sea B.
The unbeaten streak is gone. The aura of invincibility has cracked. But the league table still tells the real story.
Wellington B remain comfortably top, still the team everyone fears, still the favourites to lift the Division Two crown. This defeat was a bump in the road, not a derailment.
The green giants are wounded, but far from beaten.
đź’Ł WELLINGTON C – A NIGHTMARE THEY’LL WANT TO FORGET
If Wellington A soared and Wellington B slipped, Wellington C suffered a full‑scale disaster.
North Petherton B unleashed a merciless 88–25 demolition, scooping 12 points to nil and leaving Wellington C staring at the scoreboard in disbelief.
It was brutal. It was relentless. It was the kind of defeat that echoes around the league.
Wellington C were swept aside like a deckchair in a hurricane, and their league position now reflects the damage.
