Here is your round‑up from Week 7 of the West Somerset Bowls League. It has been a week of mixed fortunes across our three sides, with one team continuing to shine at the very top of their division, and two battling hard in challenging sections. As always, thank you to every player, reserve, supporter and volunteer who keeps our club thriving.

🟦 Wellington A – Division One

Wellington A faced a tough away fixture at Ilminster A, coming away on the wrong side of a 49–45 aggregate. The match finished 10-2 to Ilminster.

Current Position: 13th

Points: 19

Record: 1 win from 7

Aggregate: –99

The team continues to work hard in a very strong Division One. Although results have been difficult, the spirit remains excellent and the margins are tightening week by week. With several fixtures still to come, Wellington A will be aiming to convert competitive ends into winning rinks and push clear of the bottom two.

🟦 Wellington B – Division Two

Wellington B delivered another outstanding performance, edging a nail‑biting match away at Taunton B by a single shot — 57–56 — securing a superb 10–2 points victory.

Current Position: 1st

Points: 74

Record: 7 wins from 7

Aggregate: +149

This is a remarkable run of form. Wellington B remain unbeaten and sit proudly at the top of Division Two. Their consistency, teamwork and resilience have been exceptional, and they now hold a commanding lead over the chasing pack. Promotion is firmly within reach, and the squad deserves huge credit for their commitment and quality.

🟦 Wellington C – Division Two

Wellington C hosted Victoria Park A and battled well, but the visitors proved too strong, taking the match 56–38 and earning a 9–3 points win.

Current Position: 12th

Points: 29

Record: 2 wins from 7

Aggregate: –80

The team remains in a tight cluster of clubs in the lower half of the table. With several sides within touching distance, Wellington C are very much still in the fight. A single strong result could lift them multiple places, and the squad continues to show determination and good spirit.

🟩 Club Overview

  • Wellington B continue to lead the way with a flawless season and a real chance of lifting the Division Two title.

  • Wellington C are battling hard and remain well in contention to climb the table.

  • Wellington A face a challenging campaign but are showing resilience and commitment in every fixture.
