The Afternoon Open League
Wellington BC
After 21 rounds of matches in the indoor afternoon open league, The Trailblazers were crowned as league champions for the second year running. The team, made up of Steve Bradnum, Mike Copping, Tony Gibson, Pat Harvey, Ian Hollingsworth, Keith Jennings, Angie Moore, Marguerite Nichols and Phil Wiggan, finished ahead of Nick Channon's Eagles in second place and Steve Horrill's Hopefuls in third. Well done to the Trailblazers who kept going despite a couple of bad defeats to their two nearest rivals.
Thanks to those who ran the 8 teams who took part and ensured that very few games took place without the full compliment of players. A special word for The Demons and the Ninchers teams that kept going and remained really positive despite some difficult results. It was The Ninchers (from Bradninch) first entry in to the league for a number of years and it was good to have them. We hope they will join again next year.
